Hi there! Welcome to my portfolio site. My name is Michael Lange and I am an editor/producer. My focus is in the entertainment industry, where I create trailers, TV Spots and occasionally digital pieces to support theatrical film & streaming releases. I’m currently based in Dana Point, CA working full-time (in a hybrid capacity) as an Editor for Seismic Productions, cutting trailers & TV spots for our studio & streaming clients.

Before moving into creative advertising, I worked in independent distribution as an acquisitions & marketing executive for Gravitas Ventures, where in addition to licensing films for digital & theatrical distribution, I worked directly with filmmakers to revise their marketing materials to help their films stand out in a crowded VOD marketplace. Gravitas was a small distributor at the time, and every employee wore multiple hats - since I knew how to edit and Photoshop I ended up revising countless filmmaker trailers and posters. From there I began cutting and producing trailers for independent filmmaking teams in a freelance capacity, teaching myself the craft as I went along.

I then decided to get serious about being a proper trailer editor and oriented my career towards that goal, joining Netflix’s Creative Studio as an assistant editor in 2019.
